“I run Chinwag, one of the UK’s leading communities for new media professionals, which has developed from a single email discussion list to an online publishing company with a great management team, a recruitment service and lots of exciting developments for the future.

The aim is to build a company, that’s ambitious, fun, friendly with a conscience. After all, it’s hard work, so a few laughs along the way certainly won’t go amiss.

Chinwag has developed into a digital media publishing company that provides community forums, websites, networking events and consultancy for the new media industry.

Founded in late 1995, it developed around uk-netmarketing, the UK’s oldest email discussion group for online marketers based at This grew to encompass a number of several other lists covering many aspects of the digital media & marketing industry.

Chinwag publishes Chinwag Jobs, the leading recruitment website for the new media industry & Viralmonitor (, an alert service for viral campaigns.

In Feb 2007, Chinwag Live was launched with monthly panel sessions covering emerging industry issues, and a major networking event, Big Summer ’07 in July 2007.
